ALOHA MONDAY – KEEPIN’ IT COASTAL (DESIGN FOR THE ISLAND LIFE)

Aloha! I know it’s super late – not even Monday in a lot of places in the world at this point – but I wanted to get back into the swing of things after adjusting back to Hawaii time.

There are so many blessings to living on the island, but one benefit is finding locally grown flowers at the farmers markets. As you know my hubby and I celebrated ten years of marriage this past weekend. Well, he surprised me with some in my favorite color: purple.

I love the simplicity of these fresh flowers, displayed in the turquoise tumblers I picked up last year while thrifting in Kahului, Hawaii. I’ll share more about our anniversary in Hawaii later this week, but for now here are my picks for “keepin’ it coastal” wherever you live:

I just love vintage prints…wouldn’t this look amazing framed and hung in an island kitchen? This is exactly how I look when I’m leaving the farmers market here, too, just so you know. 😉

I hope to recreate this sign one day. Beach – nuff said.

This diy starfish chandelier would add a touch of elegance and beachy beauty to any corner in the house. Ahh, you just can’t go wrong with a little bit of nature and a little bit of glam, now can you?

I have two sons and they always ask me what my favorite color is and I tell them “purple.” Then they ask, “Well, what’s your OTHER favorite color?” And I have to say all of them. So these sea horses totally speak to me…brightly colored accessories add a bit of happy to our home.

What have you found recently to bring more of the coast into your home?

Aloha~
