I wrote this post a few years ago, back before we moved to the islands. I thought you might enjoy it, especially if you like creative storage ideas 🙂
Sometimes it’s the little things that make the difference.
Like using an unlikely object in a new way to store your television remotes.
When we restyled the livingroom (which isn’t finished…it’s never finished, right?) I needed a new spot to store our remotes. So out came this little flower pot.
I found it on the side of the road a couple of years ago, along with about fifteen other terra cotta pots. This one was different, though. It was a happy yellow, and a unique shape. It made me smile.
Don’t worry, I picked up ALL of the pots and took them home with me. I’m resourceful if nothing else.
I decided it would be fun to add a layer of turquoise on top of the yellow. I just used an acrylic paint and applied it with a paper towel. I’m fancy like that. Very fancy.
I like my “little” road side finds. They make me happy and sometimes they have a very special purpose, like storing TV remotes 🙂
Have you found anything on the side of the road recently?
