After an amazing, what one could aptly call “perfect” day in Waikiki, I headed upstairs to my Garden Jr. Suite at the iconic Royal Hawaiian. My friend Stacy sweetly babysat my little travel buddy while I enjoyed the event that evening, so she showed me all of the goodies that were brought to the room while I was away, then we said our goodbyes.
Goodies, you say? Yes, goodies: freshly baked banana bread, delicious tropical fruit, expertly decorated sugar cookies (with social media designs – so cute), chocolate coins, a lavender pillow and a gorgeous recipe book from various resorts in the Luxury Travel Collection were all waiting for me. What a delight!
After a good night’s rest, Gabriel and I got up before sunrise and shuffled down to Waikiki Beach. We wanted to catch those quiet moments before everyone made their way to the sea, and while we lost some sleep-time, I’m grateful for the peaceful moments we soaked in by waking up early.
After watching the sunrise at Waikiki, we simply enjoyed our room until check-out. I adore the architecture of the Royal Hawaiian, and the history of this grand resort. I’m grateful for my time there, and hope to visit again in the future!
Have you had the opportunity to visit the Royal Hawaiian or Waikiki? I’d love to hear your story, too! I’ll be sharing more of the island, including Northshore and the Windward side soon…until next time, keep livin’ la vida aloha!
